Wisbech are Champions of Rutland - Rutland Round up - 10/10
Grantham vs. Wisbech Town - Waterlogged pitch after storms on Saturday.
Wisbech are champions of the Rutland league. After this one was rained off, it gave Wisbech the required points to cross the line. Wisbech have scored a lot of runs this year, and Parth Patel scored 630 of them. Multiple players for Wisbech scored over 400 runs, inlcuding Danny Haynes (448), Gary Freear (441), Josh Bowers (419) and just under that, Dom Stannard who scored 336. The most noteable performance was Parth Patel's 137 at home to Peterborough Town, setting up a target that was too much and allowed Wisbech an important win. In that innings, he was supported by club legend Gary Freear who scored 82. Freear has been outstanding for Wisbech for many many years now and he is who you think of when you say Wisbech Town Cricket Club, and rightly so. Josh Bowers has also been a stand out performer, and he is a solid number 3. He has deserved his Cambridgeshire CCC call ups and will receive many more. He is very reliable at number 3 and batted through many innings for Wisbech, and of course, is so valuable to them behind stumps, having the ability, to seemingly stand up to everyone. Parth Patel and Gary Freear have been very good with the ball also, Freear taking 21 wickets, and Parth Patel taking 19. Consistently strong sides and a lot of talent has won Wisbech Town Rutland 1 and they deserve the win.

Connor Gillett batted well at number for Deeping scoring 56. He is making his own name by scoring more and more runs, and shouldn't be known as the son of a local legend.
