Gwion Edwards: The Welsh Wizard

Peterborough's Welsh Wizard, Gwion Edwards has started this season very well, after a nasty season ending injury away at Walsall last season.

A heart breaking moment for Posh fans when they watched Gwion Edwards be stretchered off last season, the last action he played of the season, as he started the campaign strongly. Last year, Edwards played 33 games in league one scoring in 7 of them.

After being stretchered off last season away at Walsall, he did the best response to that this weekend as he scored a brilliant goal for Posh to end a four game run of not scoring away at Walsall. He has been brilliant this season and is in great form currently.

His career began, in Wales, playing for Welsh Premier League club Aberstwyth Town, before moving to Swansea City. During his time with the Swans, Gwion played twice for Wales under 19's. He later scored for Wales under 21's, having played 6 games for them. Edwards, was also called into the squad for the Euro 2016 qualifying fixtures, against Bosnia & Herzegovina and Cyprus.

The winger played for Crawley for a few years, and the technically gited winger was brilliant. He scored 13 goals in all competitions for the south coast side, playing just under a hundred games. Edwards played for Crawley in both League 1 and 2.

A day to remember for Edwards in his Posh career would be his debut, when the winger scored the winner for the boys in blue over Rochdale, in a 3-2 win. His Posh career has had a brilliant start, and I hope to keep Edwards, I feel he will have an excellent season, he has real talent.
