EAW in Rushden, October 1st Report.
What a night in EAW this week, as the brand rolled into Rushden and smashed it! The Pemberton Centre was rocking, in a historic night for the company, as we move closer to the Rumble in Rushden. Of course, you do not have to wait long for more EAW action, on the 7th October, they roll into Woodston, Peterborough. Hard working owner, Nick Bourne, put on a great show, and we roll on, and the company will grow and grow. They have excellent young talent, with bright futures, looking to follow in the footsteps of exceptional Chris Tyler.
•Ritmo defeated. Taylor Essex A bonus match for tonight's EAW Live in Rushden Ritmo earned a pin fall victory over the very good and up coming, Taylor Essex. Both starts wrestled well and will look forward to moving up the card and challenging bigger EAW names. •Paul Malen vs. El Grando Beardo - Double Count Out A match with massive Rumble in Rushden ended in a controversial way. The loser of this match was due to enter first in the Rumble match, and the winner to have the lucky number 30 spot. But, after an awesome battle, it ended in a double count out, and now they will both have to battle the odds at the Rumble in Rushden. El Grando Beardo and Paul Malen will not have to enter the match as entrants number 1 and 2. An event that you do not want to miss, the match is going to be stacked, and a great event.
Light Heavyweight Championship Match - Stretcher Match •Andy Poole defeated. Eric Phillips (C) A record breaking night for A Star Andy Poole. Sunday night at Rushden, A Star Andy Poole became the 9 time champion, an outstanding effort from a wrestler that has been brilliant for EAW for many years now. This of course, was not just your normal one on one championship match, it was a stretcher match, one that excited the Rushden crowd, and Eric Phillips was the man loaded onto a stretcher by Andy Poole. Andy Poole will now have a target on his back, and I am sure that the vicious Eric Phillips will be ready to get his hands on the new Light Heavyweight Champion Andy Poole. Eric Phillips is a valiant wrestler, and will do everything he can to fight and claw his way back to the top of the Light Heavyweight division.
Triple Threat •Stealth defeated. Harrison Bourne & Oliver Peace A high flying, high impact triple threat between three outstanding high flyers, and Stealth has come out on top. Young up and coming talent Harrison Bourne is getting better and better every time he enters a ring, and tonight is no difference, and so is the exciting Oliver Peace. Stealth was exceptional and came out on top and put in a brilliant performance. •Mister Monster’s huge announcement The huge announcement that Mister Monster had for the fans of EAW, was a brilliant one, and lived up to its billing. He announced an event that nobody wants too miss. He announced in December, his tag team championship rematch, will be a Caged Ladder Match! A brawl ensued between Mister Monster and Mr J, when Mr J came out. The match did not officially start, but a massive brawl ensued, and the two could not be separated. The match was set up though, and it was a good one. It is a fans bring the weapons match between Mister Monster and Andy Poole vs. Eric Phillips and Mr J, this November! EAW Heavyweight Championship •Whizz Kid (C) defeated. Terry Isit A huge match for the sensational Whizz Kid, ended the match the way he started it, as the EAW Heavyweight Champion. Terry Isit was brilliant again Sunday night, as he usually is, but Whizz Kid remained as champion. This is not where the show ends, after Whizz Kid's victory, heel Terry Isit, decided to launch an attack on Whizz Kid and left him injured in the ring after the match. To make matters worse for the champion Whizz Kid, Terry Isit stole his championship from him and left the arena with it. This raises a lot more questions from an amazing main event, but what's next? EAW left Rushden tonight with Whizz Kid injured, but no belt to show for it, and Terry Isit running around with the belt, but not actually the EAW Heavyweight Champion.
This is the results from a brilliant night for the EAW in Rushden, and this weekend they go to fight in Woodston, Peterborough, of which I am attending and will be bringing you up to date notifications about the event, and hopefully exclusive interview, should we get to meet some of the wrestlers. A huge well done to EAW for a brilliant night, and for continuing the hype and excitement going into the Rumble in Rushden in November, one I am very excited for. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for EAW, and would be great to see you all at an event.
