Please don't forget to get in touch and follow on twitter on @__SportCentral (two underscores).

PREMIER LEAGUE ONE •Castlemilk Dynamo vs. Polonia Glasgow As a huge opening weekend is about to begin, Castlemilk Dynamo host Polonia Glasgow. Castlemilk Dynamo enter this game with confidence flying high after their 5-1 win in the RJM Sports Sunday Trophy. Castlemilk Dynamo were in fantastic goal scoring form and will want to carry that into this weekends home game. A tough day for Polonia Glasgow last time out, but that was the cup, and this Sunday they will be commencing with league action, creating a totally level playing field. I managed to catch up with Castlemilk Dynamo star, Alan Semple, “We have a big season ahead at Castlemilk Dynamo, missing out on being champions for the first time in 3 years was a sore one for us. We dropped a lot of silly points at the start of last season and were punished for that in the end. We will be doing everything we can to start this season in a much stronger fashion. We strengthened in all areas over the summer and look forward to a tricky opening fixture in a hugely competitive league”. •Drumchapel United vs. Cranhill United This one will be a cracking game, as Drumchapel United will want to continue their fine goal scoring form as they scored 8 last weekend. They are the hosts this weekend, as they welcome Cranhill United, a side also won last weekend and kept a clean sheet in the process. Cranhill United, like they will be Sunday, were on the road this weekend, and they kept a clean sheet and scored three. Confidence will be riding high on both sides, creating a buzz going into an important opening game for both sides. This week, I managed to speak to Drumchapel United, and they said, “We are looking forward to kicking off the league campaign against tough opponents Cranhill United. Hopefully we get off to a good start as it looks a very competitive and tough league this year”. •Eastend Tower vs. Overlee Partizans A tough weekend for Eastend Tower last time out, they went toe to toe with Steadings away from home, and went all the way to penalties, meaning they have played normal time, extra time and then have gone through the nerves of a penalty shoot out, whereas Overlee Partizans have not had a fixture last weekend due to their game being called off. Who this will benefit is still not something we know, but it a point I can’t wait to find out. Eastend Tower are the hosts this weekend, and Overlee Partizans, the reigning champions are the visitors. Last season, Overlee Partizans scored 85 goals in the league, from just 18 games, and won 15 of the games. They will want to continue their fine goal scoring form, but it is not going to be easy against a very good Eastend Tower side. •Haghill vs. Northend This weekend sees last year’s runners up Northend travel to Haghill, the team that ended in 4th spot last season. Last weekend Haghill were brilliant, they won their match 4-0 and have booked their place in the next round of the RJM Sports Sunday Trophy. They will be pleased with scoring 4 goals, but they will take just as much pride in keeping a clean sheet, during their victory. Northend also won their match by 4 goals, as they scored won 5-1. This time they are on the road as they travel to Haghill. Northend conceded 18 goals in 18 games last season, a very impressive statistic that they will look to quickly return to this season, they face a massive test as this match between Haghill and Northend is set to be a classic. These sentiments are echoed, by Paul Hughes of Haghill, as he added, “First league game of the season and they dont come any tougher than northend last seasons runners up games always tight always hard fought and always good to watch looking forward to it weather permitting” PREMIER LEAGUE TWO •Castlemilk United vs. Carluke Thistle Last week saw an excellent victory away from home for Carluke Thistle, one they will hope to emulate this weekend, as they crushed South Edinburgh 8-2 last time out in the RJM Sports Sunday Trophy. Castlemilk United on the other hand, did not have a game in the end last weekend due to weather conditions, but they will be hungry for it this weekend and ready to go. They are the hosts and will want to start the season in winning ways at the own back yard, and Carluke Thistle will look to do similar damage, which sets this one up to be a brilliant game. •Rutherglen Rovers vs. Sporting Pumas Last weekend, the visitors Sporting Pumas hammered their opposition as they won 7-0 and keep up their fantastic goal scoring reputation. Last season, Sporting Pumas won Division 2A, as they went the whole season unbeaten. They will want to take up from where they left off this season, and continue to pick up victories. They scored 73 goals in their 14 games last season, and Rutherglen Rovers will be the team to try and stop them. Rutherglen Rovers played in this league last season and this may give them an advantage over the rampant Sporting Pumas, as well as having home ground advantage. I spoke to Scott Parry this week, assistant manager of Carluke Thistle, and he said, “Going to be a tough game for us this weekend against Castlemilk United. We know that Castlemilk won Division 2B a couple of seasons ago & are a strong side. We’re missing a few important players for the upcoming fixture however last Sunday’s game in the Scottish Cup was ideal as it gave other players a chance to get minutes under their belt & we’re confident of them coming in & doing the job for us. We’re looking forward to finally get the league campaign underway after the group stages”. •Gartferry vs. Budhill United Two sides that did not compete in the RJM Sports Sunday Trophy last weekend, but will be ready to go this weekend in the league. They are going to be evenly matched in this highly anticipated game. Budhill United have been the first team to pick up a win this season in the Premier League Two, as they beat the Rutherglen Rovers last weekend, winning 8-4. They will be very pleased with their 8 goals they scored, and will look to build on their excellent performance and keep picking up wins in the league. The home club Gartferry did not play last weekend and will be hungry to get started and get stuck into league action. •Glasgow Rovers vs. Albion No game last weekend for Glasgow Rovers, but a tough one for Albion, despite their awesome display. Albion played really well and were unlucky not to come away with a win last weekend. They are on the road this weekend as they travel to Glasgow Rovers. The home club will be up this one and raring to go, having not played last weekend, a good game is set to take place Sunday. •Haldane United vs. Brunswick A repeat fixture of Sunday this weekend, as these two clubs played against each other last weekend in the RJM Sports Sunday Trophy. Haldane United did come away with the victory last time out, but that is the cup match completed as we move onto league action. What happened last weekend will have no bearing on this weekend’s fixtures, as it is all about the 90 minutes that take place this Sunday. The two sides go into this one at 0-0 and it will be a great game in the Premier League. PREMIER LEAGUE THREE •Carluke Victoria vs. Calderside No game last weekend for Carluke Victoria, but this weekend they host an in form Calderside team. Last weekend, Calderside picked up a victory away from home, winning 2-1 in a brilliant contest and they will want to continue that run against Carluke Victoria. Carluke will want to pick up all three points, having been well rested and now ready go, at their home ground. •Eastend Star vs. Red Staars Baagrade An excellent start to the Premier League three for Red Staars Baagrade as they won their first game of the season 6-3 against Rosehill Thistle. They are going to be hoping to make it two from two as they travel to Eastend Star. Ironically, Eastend Star also won their game 6-3, but in the RJM Sports Sunday Trophy, as they beat Shirlaws and booked their place in the next round of the club. As both sides have had such similar results in the weekend passed, it is hard to tell who has an advantage in this one, but you cannot call it, both sides will be ready to go and want to take home full points from this fixture. •Glasgow Irish vs. Rosehill Thistle Rosehill Thistle competed in the league last weekend and they had a tough game against Red Staars Baagrade, but did pick up three goals despite the result. They will want revenge this weekend as they face Glasgow Irish. Glasgow Irish were brilliant last weekend and involved in a brilliant game against Lanarkshire Forrest as the score was 4-4 after both normal and extra time. When the penalty shoot out rolled around, it was Glagsow Irish that held their own and won a great shoot out. A brilliant game in store for us in the Premier League three. •Gorbals United vs. Cambuslang Football Academy It is now time to focus on the league for Gorbals United as they host the Cambuslang Football Academy this weekend in the season opener. Cambuslang FA were involved in what can only be described as a classic. They went toe to toe with East Lothian Thistle and the scoreline was 6-6 after normal and extra time. But Cambuslang Football Academy held their nerve in the penalty shoot out and booked their place in the next round. Despite a classic of a game, they will now want to put that aside for the time being and focus on this match with the hungry Gorbals United. •PFD vs. Sauchie A brilliant win last weekend for PFD as they won 5-0 and booked their place in the next round of the RJM Sports Sunday Trophy. They are the hosts this weekend and will have league action to focus on, as their opening game is against Sauchie, a team that are well rested and ready to get playing football and will be raring to go. Sauchie will have enjoyed their break to rest up and heal any injuries they may have had but now they will be ready to get down to business and they will be ready to go that this Sunday, as will PFD. CHAMPIONSHIP ONE •Eastwood Mearns vs. Eastend Rovers Last team saw a massive victory for Eastwood Mearns as they booke dtheir place in the next round of the RJM Sports Sunday Trophy with their crushing 6-1 victory, but the celebrations will have to be put on hold as they focus on league action this weekend, as they have the visit of Eastend Rovers, in Championship One. Eastend Rovers did not play last weekend, but they will be ready to get under way now, and will come back hungrier than ever. This set to be a cracking game as the two side face off this Sunday. I managed to catch up with Eastwood Mearns this week, and they have said, “We are really looking forward to our first league game in Championship Division A. We are in no doubt blinkered and fully understand that it'll be a massive challenge for us and we'll need to be on our game week in week out but it's a challenge everyone at the club is looking forward to. As always we have a few missing through work but that's the joys of Amateur football. The lads are up for it and looking forward to doing all they can and hopefully get 3 points on the board”. •EK Athletic vs. Vale Rangers Both clubs have began their 2017-2018 campaigns last weekend, as EK Athletic sit top of the table, at this extremely early stage of the season. EK Athletic won 6-1 to kick off their season, a brilliant result and one they will look to emulate this weekend. Vale Rangers, will be out for revenge in this one, and will be looking to block out what happened last weekend and to come back with a winning answer as they travel to EK Athletic. I managed to catch up with EK Athletic this weekend, and they said, “We are looking forward to another tough game against strong opposition to try establish ourselves as strong contenders for this years title”. I spoke to Vale Rangers this weekend and they said, “due to a lot of factors we had a a very limited squad last week, which resulted in a disappointing defeat. Looking forward to having a strong squad available this week ahead of a game against a strong looking EK side”. •Glenmill Thistle vs. Rumours AFC The home club Glenmill Thistle began their season last weekend, but will be ready to get going this weekend, to try and get the first points on the board. They take home advantage into their clash with Rumours AFC. Rumours were involved in a stalemate, as neither side could break the deadlock for normal and extra time. They did however emerge victorious after winning on penalties, and have booked their place in the next round of the RJM Sports Sunday Trophy. No matter what form either side has going into this match, they will both know that it all depends on the 90 minutes on the day and how perform in the moment. •HSV vs. Provanmill Thistle Two in form clubs HSV and Provanmill Thistle do battle this weekend, as HSV are coming off an excellent win, from a penalty shoot out in the RJM Sports Sunday Trophy. They were level at 2-2 after normal and extra time, but HSV held their nerve to win on penalties. Provanmill Thistle however go into this game with three points in the league already. They had the perfect start to the season, as they won 4-1, a great performance to kick this season off. •New Stevenston United vs. Weir Recreation A massive game this weekend, as Weir Recreation will be on the road to New Stevenston United, to kick off their Sunday Central Championship One campaign. The beginning of what is going to be a huge season for Weir Recreation as they head toward their centenary year as a club, and they will want to enter their historic year as the champions. It is too early to start using the word champions, but both clubs will be looking to get a great start under their belts. The two sides competed in the RJM Sports Sunday Trophy last weekend, but the two clubs will be putting that to the back of their minds as they prepare for the opening league game of the season. I caught up with passionate manager of Weir Recreation, Scott MacGregor this week and he said, “On Sunday we travel away to meet New Stevenston United in our first league game. We have never met before and don't know a lot about them. They topped their group comfortably and they had a high goal difference so we shall be watching out for that”. Scott added, “We are missing a few key players but have a good depth to our squad. Buzzing to get the league campaign started!!!”. CHAMPIONSHIP TWO •Bengal Lancers AFC vs. Bardykes Rovers Last weekend, Bardykes Rovers did not have a game, so they will feel fresh and ready for their clash against the Bengal Lancers. The Bengal Lancers did compete last weekend as they faced Calderside in the RJM Sports Sunday Trophy, and have a lot of positives to take away from what was a fantastic match, that could have gone either way. Sunday Central Championship Two action will begin this Sunday for both clubs. •Blantyre Albion vs. South Lanarkshire Ravens South Lanarkshire Ravens have already began their league campaign and it started with a brilliant win, one they will hope to build upon this weekend, as they travel to Blantyre Albion. Blantyre Albion were clinical in their match as they hammered Queens Bar 6-1 at home, and they will want to continue that fine goalscoring form into this weekend’s action. A great match is in store for us all. •Broadwood Clyde vs. Rutherglen Burgh Rutherglen Burgh were involved in a fantastic 12 goal thrill last weekend, scoring 5 times, and making a great account for themselves. They will travel to Broadwood Clyde this weekend to look to carry on playing entertaining football and to continue their goal scoring form. Broadwood Cycle on the other hand, have played in the league already this season, and had a good game against Newmains United, and they will take a lot of positives from a good game, despite the result. •Glasgow Star vs. Newmains United Newmains United will be delighted with their first game of the season last weekend, as they picked up three points in a brilliant win. They will not want to stop there, they will want to continue this weekend, as they travel to Glasgow Star. Glasgow Star, like Newmains United scored twice, but unfortunately did not win, in the RJM Sports Sunday Trophy. Glasgow Star had an excellent match with Dunfermline United away from home, and will be excited to begin their league campaign at home, against an in form Newmains United. •Kilsyth Rovers vs. Wellhouse No game last weekend for Kilsyth Rovers, they will be ready to get underway in the league and try start in strong fashion. Wellhouse have began their season in the league, but lost it 2-1 in a brilliant match that they can take a lot of positives from. Kilsyth Rovers will be rested and ready to go this weekend when Wellhouse come to town. A cracking game is in store in this fixture, one that you do not want to miss. I spoke to the manager of Kilsyth Rovers this week, and he said, “It’s Kilsyth Rovers vs Wellhouse at st Patrick’s Sportsfield in Kilsyth, with a 2pm kick off. We go into the game after a free week due to the cup, but we have three key players out, two with suspensions, being Ryan Brown and Calum Mitchell, with Stuart Crichton still recovering from a fractured/dislocated knee, those 3 aside, we have a strong squad going into the game”. CHAMPIONSHIP THREE •Airdrie Albion vs. Nethercraigs Having started last weekend in the league, Airdrie Albion will be looking to change their first result, as they host Nethercraigs in the Sunday Central Championship Three. Nethercraigs had the same result as Airdrie Albion this weekend as both sides lost 2-1. Nethercraigs’ was against Normandy Star, and they will be ready to try and correct that result, as the two sides are set to do battle this Sunday. •Glasgow Athletic vs. Eastwood Mearns B A tough game last time out for Glasgow Athletic, but that will be swiftly forgotten about as we start league action. Neither club has started their season as of yet, and they will both be desperate to get three points on the board to kick start their campaign for the season. •Queenslie vs. Colquhoun United The first side to register a victory in the Sunday Central Championship Three this season, was Queenslie as they won their first and only game of the league campaign, 4-2. Queenslie are in good goalscoring form and will want that to continue into their game this weekend, as they host Colquhoun United. Colquhoun United hosted Cranhill United in the RJM Sports Sunday Trophy, and they will be ready to forget about that game and try and focus on this Sunday only. •Summerston Amateurs vs. East Lane The hosts Summerston Amateurs have not played this season, they will be ready to get underway and open their account. East Lane however, have been brilliant in the RJM Sports Sunday Trophy as they hammered Bathgate 9-0. They are in prolific goal scoring form, as well as looking to maintain and build from the clean sheet they achieved. A brilliant start to the season for East Lane, they will want to continue that this weekend, in the Sunday Central League.
