EAW in Woodston review! What a great show
What a great night had by all tonight, at EAW! Nick Ashberry was brilliant getting everybody involved and making sure everybody had a great time, having not stopped being on the go for the whole three hours. A lot of credit must go to the hard working owner of EAW. Tonight EAW rolled into Woodston, and the room didn’t stop rocking. An intense and quick paced by three of the most up and coming stars on the scene and Terry Isit was phenomenal in the main event. Isit has main event written all over him right now, and has been on an incredible rise in the EAW for many years now. Another outstanding performance tonight must be credited to Captain Ritmo. Having never seen him action until tonight, it is clear that Ritmo is one for the future, and is going to be a star in EAW in no time at all. Everybody at EAW tonight was brilliant and I couldn’t have asked for a better set of gentlemen after the show also. Please make sure you get to an EAW event, it is great for the whole family. There are many upcoming events, including one is going to be an amazing Rumble in Rushden, and events in Wisbech St Mary, and Stilton, Peterborough in November. I would urge you all to please follow @__SportCentral on twitter, should we have a following, we will be running an EAW based poll very soon, to find out, who is the best wrestler, who will be the next champ, and many more that cannot be announced yet! All you have to do, is make an account if you haven’t got one and go to @__SportCentral on twitter, drop us a follow and get ready for the polls.
1. Captain Ritmo defeated. Furio Captain Ritmo was brilliant in this match, he got the crowd going throughout, and had a seriously complete moveset. Captain Ritmo’s moves were brilliant, especially during the build up to the finish, using the top rope to his advantage. Furio was mysterious, and eye catching, his entrance was brilliant, he to had a good move set, and is going to be a wrestler that catches your attention. Before tonight, I had not seen either man wrestle, but they kicked off tonight in style, and Captain Ritmo has a pleasure to watch. I personally would love to see more from the Captain, it will not long until he is going to be making headlines of his own.
2. (EAW Tag Team Championship) - The Evolution of the Imperfects (Eric Phillips & Mr J Danny West) def. El Grando Beardo & Tommy Wills The Evolution of the imperfects were brilliant, Mr J Danny West is a natural heel, and when he grabbed the microphone, claiming they shouldn’t be defending tonight, he was excellent at building up what was a great match. It was brilliant to see Eric Phillips perform this evening, having hurt his elbow on Sunday, he took a fall onto it in Woodston also, but did not show it at all. Eric Phillips has been great for EAW since he began many years ago, and continues to impress every time he gets in the ring. Wishing Eric Phillips to return from his elbow injury quickly, a brilliant wrestler, keep your eye out for both men. The Evolution of the Imperfects are a great tag team and they will be tough to beat for their EAW Tag Team Championships. El Grando Beardo was a monster, and made his opponents very cautious about when they stepped in the ring with him. When the Evolution of the Imperfects combined using their tag team nouse and took the match away from them, keeping El Grando Beardo on ring apron for as long as possible, and combined to pin, Tommy Wills and win the match, to retain their championship.
3. Harrison Bourne def. Joe Lando & Taylor Essex Excellent fast paced match between three rising stars tonight, and for me, it was match of the night. A match that wouldn’t allow you to blink, was high flying and high impact. Joe Lando appearing in EAW was the best surprise tonight, he is a serious talent and is going to be one of the biggest stars, not just in EAW, but on the British Independent scene. Harrison Bourne was phenomenal also, he was non stop, and pulled off moves that you would not have imagined, and earned his victory over Taylor Essex and Joe Lando. Taylor Essex was also brilliant, he got the crowd going, and was outstanding in this match. The three have natural chemistry between the ropes and it is clear that this is not the first time that Joe Lando and Harrison Bourne have got head to head, and that was clear as they were phenomenal. I would want to see loads more in EAW for the exceptional Joe Lando, he is going to be a star, with his best match Harrison Bourne, the two will make serious opponents and as an alliance.
Harrison Bourne and Joe Lando will never be at a disadvantage as they has such a long list of offense. Both men are sponsored by DTBA, as they too have recognised the two high flyers as the next big thing in British Wrestling. If you get the chance to watch Joe Lando and Harrison Bourne compete, do not miss that opportunity.
Just before the interview, Nick Ashberry grabbed the microphone to announce something, but Paul Malen then barged him out of the way and grabbed the microphone. The seasoned superstar Paul Malen was not happy at all, and he wanted his shot at the championship, and boycotted the show, by sitting in the middle of the ring until he got what he wanted. Paul Malen demanded that champion Whizz Kid Lance Lawrence should come out and defend his championship right now. Nick Ashberry was about to say that Malen knows Lance Lawrence is not here, but then...TERRY ISIT! Terry Isit came out and told Malen that he has had his shot, and that losers wait at the back of the line. They set up the main event, a number one contendership match. 4. NLP vs. J-Denn Scarr & Jack Hammer A crazy match, with J-Denn Scarr and Jack Hammer coming out, and immediately being assaulted by NLP. They did not wait around and a brawl ensued with the moment swinging as they brawled all around Woodston. Before the match could even commence, J-Denn Scarr was injured and had to leave the ring and go backstage injured. They went to call the match off, and then a defiant Jack Hammer came out and got ready for a two on one handicap match. Midway through the match, J-Denn Scarr came running back out, and it became a level playing field. The fight from Jack Hammer & J-Denn Scarr was brilliant, and it ended with J-Denn Scarr covered in blood, and being beaten up by NLP. J-Denn Scarr & Jack Hammer showed brilliant fortitude to keep coming back and fighting against the NLP. 5. Terry Isit defeated. Paul Malen What a performance that was from Terry Isit, he has main event written all over him, and he has a bright future in the business. I first saw Terry Isit in 2014, but see how far he has come since then, and turned into a true main eventer, has been exceptional. He was against the brilliant and experienced Paul Malen, who has been there and done it, and tonight Terry Isit looked like he had it. Not just the finish, but Isit was great from start to finish, from the way he engaged everyone in attendance to his phenomenal move set. The event ended with Terry Isit standing tall, and victorious after a deserved win, as he now becomes number one contender, and Whizz Kid Lance Lawrence will be aware and ready to defend.
The match ended when Paul Malen introduced a steel chair and after going for the chair shot, missing and it rebounding into his face, Terry Isit took the opportunity to capitalise, and pick up the result. Terry Isit’s new merch is going to be flying off the shelves very soon, he is turning heads and is going to be a star, Isit looked at home in the main event. You do not want to miss Terry Isit vs. Whizz Kid Lance Lawrence when it happens, as well as the fall out from Paul Malen, who will be after Terry Isit for revenge.
An exceptional night in EAW, and I hope to attend more events and cover EAW so much more. Harrison Bourne and Joe Lando never fail to impress me, and they will be massive stars very very soon. For me, Terry Isit was brilliant, going to be in the main event picture for EAW as long as he wants to be, but I was most impressed with Captain Ritmo in Woodston, a great move set, got the crowd going and I cannot wait to see more and more from this EAW wrestler, I hope he is in the Rumble in Rushden, he has a lot to offer, an outstanding performer. The anticipation for the Rumble is Rushden, and please make sure you look out for my predictions and build up, it is going to be a brilliant event. In the meantime, please make sure you check out EAW in Wisbech St Mary’s on the 22nd October.
