Scottish Cup (Round 2) •Port Glasgow vs. John Street Another attempt to get the game on between John Street and Port Glasgow. The game ended in a very bad scene last weekend, as a Port Glasgow player suffered from a serious injury and we wish the best of luck with his surgery. It's not nice to end a game in this fashion, but the right call was made to abandon the game. They will go again this weekend. The score was 1-1 and in the second half when it was then called off, John Street will hope to continue from that, and go the whole way and pick up a win. I managed to speak to John Street this week, and they said "Hopefully game will be on the port glasgow pitches are bad at the best of weather , this will be the 3rd time trying to play it .1st game pitch unplayable. 2nd abandoned due to a serious injury to a port player, game was at 1-1 when it was abandoned so should be a good game on Saturday, if it hopefully gets played" •Rannoch Colts vs. Carluke Thistle Another attempt to get the Scottish Cup match between Rannoch Colts and Carluke Thistle on. They will be ready to try and get this game on again and to pick up a win for the Greater Glasgow side. Scottish Cup (Round 2 Replay) •FC Clydebank vs. Westcliff Last weekend ended in a draw between the two clubs and the rematch is here! Westcliff had a couple of players missing last weekend, and they will hope to have a full set of players and to try and edge this one out, with that added advantage. In the West of Scotland Cup not so long ago, Westcliff where clinical, and will hope to return along that cup adventure. West of Scotland Cup (Round 3) •Ardrossan Castle Rover [AYR] v. Eastwood Parkmount 'A' AFC Eastwood Parkmount 'A' have been brilliant of late, the in form team and they will be hoping to continue that form away at Ardrossan Castle Rover from Ayr. Last weekend they beat a very good university team, and they picked up a brilliant 10-0 win before that. A great performance, and they have won three game convincingly in a row. Eastwood Parkmount 'A' will be in the mood to continue their brilliant run of games. •EKRR [SAFL] vs. Helensburgh AFC More cup action for Helensburgh this weekend, they ground out a brilliant 1-0 win in the President's League Cup on Saturday. They now travel EKRR to try and progress in the West of Scotland Cup. Having looked at the fixtures, they will be playing in cup games in their next four games, and their last league game was 9th September. Helensburgh will be a team now well accustomed to playing in high pressured cup games, and will hope to use that to their advantage. I managed to speak to Helensburgh this week and they have said, "It’s a difficult trip in store for Helensburgh this Sat in the 3rd Rd of the West when they visit East Kilbride Rolls Royce. EKRR of the SAFL Premier League will be the favourites for this one. We have some guys missing due to a wedding but the benefits of a large squad means we have some able guys to backfill. Not sure what to expect from EKRR as they have had a nervy start to the season in their own league but I’m sure they will be an experienced well drilled outfit. It’s good to play against teams of this calibre as it shows us where we are in terms of progression" •Galston United [AYR] vs. GSC Jordanhill AFC Jordanhill will be on the road this weekend as they travel to Galston United. Jordanhill will look to renew their excellent form in the West of Scotland Cup. Galston United are going to be a tough test, but Jordanhill will start fresh in the cup and try and proceed to the next round. I spoke to Jordanhill this week, and they said, "Club going through a tough time with injuries and a few absences. This game will be very difficult going on Galstons form and the amount of players we have missing. Thankfully, we welcome back Toby Cole and Diarmid Sutherland. However, we have 5 defenders currently on the sidelines". •Newshot AFC vs. Ardeer West Recreation [AYR] The home club Newshot will be extremely pleased with their performance last weekend, including the performance of Kyle Brown, who scored twice and set two goals up. He was well supported by an excellent squad of players, including super striker Ross Stevenson, a player that can't stop scoring, and seems to score at least one in every game! Newshot will take a their unbeaten start in the league, and transfer it into cup form this weekend, as they host Ardeer West Recreation. I managed to speak to Newshot during the week, and they have said, "This week we host ardeer in the West Cup. Another tough game no doubt but we hope we can take our recent league form and progress in the cup" •Symington Caledonian (Ayr) vs. Cambria AFC Top of the table in Greater Glasgow division 1, Cambria will be happy with how they have started the season, and will look to continue that form going into their journey to Symington Caledonian. Roddy MacDonald and Richard Gordon will be very happy with their men, and how they have performed at the start of this season. It hasn't always been Cambria's attacking contingent that have been leading the way, it has been at the back they have been brilliant at the back, conceding very few goals. Benji MacInnes, the right back of Cambria, has enjoyed an exceptional season, and will want to carry on in a brilliant run of form. Also Cambria keeper Craig Ritchie has been an excellent shot stopper all season long, and is going to be a huge test for hosts this weekend. This week we ran a poll to find out who is the player of the week for the Greater Glasgow League division 1, an accomplishment that is earned by Benji MacInnes of Cambria. I managed to speak to Roddy MacDonald, of Cambria, and he said, "Looking forward to the West of Scotland match against Symington Caledonian Afc in Ayrshire Missing a couple of Key players from last Saturday but this week sees the return of Robbie Renwick Joe Winnie, Andy Smith, Ross Nixon & Paul Maclean to give us our strongest squad of the season Expecting a tough game as all Ayrshire teams always fight hard to win, we will look at overcoming this with attitude discipline and team spirit to take us into the next round of this vital competition that our Caledonian team are the current holders of this trophy, that in itself gives us the drive and focus to win this important tie, again Management and players will in no way becoming complacent". DIVISION 1 •Eaglesham vs. Newton Vale Huge division 1 action this weekend, the in form Newton Vale. Eaglesham have had a weekend break as they were set to play Calderglen last weekend, but weather stood in the way. they will be rested and ready to go at home to Newton Vale. Eaglesham are a very good side, and it will be tough test for both clubs, and a brilliant game. Newton Vale have an excellent squad of players and goals that can come from all round the park. Last weekend, Ryan Millar fired home an outstanding strike, before Kieran Zeb scored the winner to give Newton Vale all three points. Newton Vale are positive ahead of this one, they have said, "Another tough game this weekend against Eaglesham who we have had some great battles with in the last couple of years and it is always a close game. With other teams playing in the west it is important we can take advantage of this and continue to keep picking up points in the league. 16 at training with a few new faces so will hopefully try and get a look at them at some point as well". •Erskine vs. Strathclyde University Strathclyde University are travelling to Erskine this weekend and they have been in fine form as of late, and have been a side that have started well in the league. They had a great encounter with Newton Vale last weekend, despite the result, they played brilliantly, and won their first league game prior to that. They have been brilliant in the league and hope they can continue that when the University side visit. A mixed start for Stratchclyde University, they have the same amount of points than Erskine, and this will be a great contest. •Glasgow University 'A' vs. Dynamo East Kilbride Dynamo East Kilbride have found themselves in brilliant form. Marc Elliott not just been solid at the back, he has also been in goal scoring form. He has been unstoppable going forward, scoring two last weekend. He will hope to fire Dynamo East Kilbride three more points this weekend. A very good young Glasgow University side have won one, lost one to begin this season, as they are at home this weekend, and will be looking forward to the test of Dynamo East Kilbride. Both sides sit on three points in the league, an even clash, that is sure to be brilliant. This week, I spoke to Dynamo East Kilbride, and they said, "Looking forward to match love playing out in Garscube great facilities parks the lot although not played Glasgow uni in a couple of years we still know it will be fit young team we are up against and a tough away fixture which we will relish". •St. Patrick's FP vs. Westerlands 'A' Westerlands 'A' another side that is based out of Glasgow University, will be ready for their journey to St. Pat's. Westerlands 'A' have been in fine form, and have been climbing the league table, they were involved in a thrilling encounter with Glasgow University last weekend. St. Pat's are a good side that will be looking to jump start their season at home this weekend. DIVISION 2 •Ashvale Victoria vs. East Kilbride Y.M. Last week, Ashvale Victoria picked up a brilliant result in the league, a win against Glasgow University 'B'. A great result for a club, that have had a tough start, but will be ready to kick start their season and pick up a string of victories. East Kilbride Y.M. have been brilliant this season, and despite the result, played well last weekend. Scott Campbell scored once against for East Kilbride, he has been in phenomenal form and can't stop scoring goals. Manager Graeme Robertson will be ready for this weekend, and so will his East Kilbride YM players. This week we ran a poll to find out who is the player of the week for the Greater Glasgow League division 2, an accomplishment that is earned by Scott Campbell, of East Kilbride YM. Graeme Robertson, manager of East Kilbride YM has said, "We travel away from home again to Ashvale Vics who have started the league campaign in similar fashion to ourselves. We will be looking to bounce back after an extremely poor performance last week and get 3 points on the board. I always expect a tough game vs Ashvale and they beat us on their home patch last year but this is a new squad we have and hopefully things will start to click into place after a good training session on Wednesday". •Eastwood Parkmount 'B' vs. Glasgow University 'B' I don't think anybody will be able to call this game, both clubs have had a mix of form, and they will both be up for this one. Eastwood Parkmount 'B' are the hosts and will hope that gives them an advantage over Glasgow University 'B', a young side that are going to be quick and ready for this weekend. •North Kelvin Sports vs. FC Baillieston Another tough result for North Kelvin Sports, a side struggling for bodies this season will host FC Baillieston, a side that picked up an impressive 3-2 victory in the league over Rannoch last time out. They have been in good form this season, and a solid outfit will be ready for their journey this weekend. •Westerlands G.G. vs. Third Lanark An away day is next up for Third Lanark, and David Ampleford's men are coming off a fantastic 8-0 win last weekend. They had six different goal scorers last weekend, and super star Alan Semple has been in fine form as ever, scoring 2 last weekend, after breaking the deadlock. Midfield maestro, Marc Corlett, nicknamed Pirlo for his ability to pick a pass from anywhere on the park, scored two last weekend, and they will look to take that confidence into this weekend. Third Lanark has players missing last weekend, but it is testament to the strength and depth of their squad that they came out on top last weekend. Westerlands G.G., a team that had a break last weekend and will feel well rested and ready to host top of the table Third Lanark. DIVISION 3 •Bellaire vs. St Thomas Last weekend, Bellaire were in a nail biting contest in the Scottish Cup, despite the result, they have a lot of positives to take into league action this Saturday. Bellaire scored three times, and will be pleased with the goal scoring form. St Thomas had a tough result last weekend, they went down to 9 men very early on, and it is hard to come back from that point, regardless of which team you are. Ryan McAnenay has been a brilliant player/manager for St Thomas this season, and he will hope to lead his team to victory this weekend, and two put last Saturday behind them. This week, I spoke to St Thomas and they have said, "We are looking to get back on track after the freak result last week". •Boswell vs. Carradale Brilliant Boswell have been excellent all season, and despite a tough result last weekend in division 3, they will want to put that behind them and focus on going forward. Next up for them is Carradale, a team that were excellent in their double header against Busby, and will want to pick up a huge victory on the road against Boswell. Boswell's Steven Odunewu has been outstanding all season, last weekend who scored once again, and Boswell have said he was their man of the match. Boswell are a calm team and a very good side both at the backand going forward. Sunil Chaterjee has been exceptional at the back, and has had many clubs wondering how to avoid him getting his head on a cross. A side that seems complete, having a great back 4, a strong midfield that includes superstar Odunewu playing his free role, and a good strike force that includes the inform Ben Feathers. It should be a great contest between the two this weekend. This week, I managed to speak to Boswell, and they said, “Looking to work on our work rate in games and getting us back to playing the way we know we can after last weeks defeat. We welcome Carradale AFC from Campbeltown and hope they have a safe journey. That is a team of players with dedication and commitment travelling that distance nearly every 2 weeks. #MonTheBozzy”. •Busby vs. South Lochaber Thistle Busby are a very young side that used to be an under 21's side last season. They will be full of energy this weekend against South Lochaber Thistle. They are coming off their best win of the season, an exceptional 9-0 win away from home, and they will now host SLT and be well up for the contest. South Lochaber Thistle also picked up an excellent victory last weekend, with help from inspirational striker Erik Tot. His hattrick was exceptional and he will be pleased with the three points. South Lochaber Thistle will hope that last weekend's victory will be the start of a run of games. They will look to carry on their form, after winning a nail biting contest. This week we ran a poll to find out who is the player of the week for the Greater Glasgow League division 3, an accomplishment that is earned by Erik Tot of South Lochaber Thistle. South Lochaber Thsitle manager Alan Gray says, "SLT will look to build upon last week’s exciting win and continue the team’s rejuvenation with a trip to Busby, a new team for South Lochaber. We look forward to making new friends and playing the game in the right spirit.” PRESIDENT'S LEAGUE CUP SECTION 3 •Colquhoun United vs. Rannoch On to President's League Cup action for these two sides this weekend, Colquhoun United have played 3 games in Section 3. They will play their final game in this compeition, and Rannoch have just played the one, and they will be looking for a late dash for gold in this league and try to win it, by winning their three remaining games. PRESIDENT'S LEAGUE CUP SECTION 4 •Calderglen vs. Crookston Castle Must win game for both clubs this weekend, as the winner of this match will be the winners Section 4 of the President's League Cup. Another rest weekend for Calderglen, as the weather did not permit this fixture to take place. But they are back this weekend, and they host Crookston Castle in the President's League Cup Section 4. Crookston Castle were brilliant last weekend in division 2 and they won 6-2 and will hope to continue in the rich vein of form they are currently in. Calderglen will be well rested and ready to host Crookston, in a must win game for both sides. As it stands, this is the only game remaining in Section 4, and currently, Crookston Castle are on 7 points, Calderglen are on 6 points, and current leaders have played all of their games and are on 8 points. A must win game and the winner of this match will be the winner of this section of the President's league cup. Last weekend’s SportCentral Player of the Week •Division 1: Benji MacInnes - (Cambria) Benji MacInness was voted as this weekend's GGPAFL division 1 player of the week.
