Rebel FC were in action against UCL, with is a University College of London. A great game. After the referee crisis to begin with as the ref turned up after about half an hour, and a temporary referee was needed! A great performance from FC Rebel, they battled hard through the pouring driving rain, through all 85 minutes! The first half was cut 5 minutes short due to the referee problem at the beginning, but a game that ended 2-2. A draw was probably a fair result for the two, both sides played very throughout. The Rebel FC looks a very strong one, with some excellent performances from individuals. Casey Barker is solid at the back from his club, but not only that, he is a prolific scorer. It’s a blessing for a side to have a centre back with a goal scoring record like Casey’s, who scored a hat trick not so long ago! Another stand out performance, would be from Jamie, @ldn_movements, who especially in the second half caused real problems with his blisteringly quick pace down the wing, and most impressively for me, his willingness and ability to stay on his feet at all times. Another shoutout must go to the goalkeeper and my man of the match, Kaelin - @kaelinmartin, who was brilliant the whole game, and kept Rebel FC in the game on multiple occasions, including an excellent save outside the box and during a one on one. The central midfield contingent also had a brilliant against UCL, Lionel, Dante and Savva, a serious force to be reckoned with, and they all have immense talent. Lionel will charge at any defence with intent, and Savva and Dante who have unbelievable balance and footwork. Of course there are many other talented players in the side, but these are the players that stood out to me. UCL vs. Rebel FC The game was a slow start for Rebel FC, and the defence was solid until a ball over the top from UCL’s right winger, bounced fortunately for their striker that finished well and put the University side 1-0 up. This was just a temporary un doing of the Rebel FC defence that on the way put in a brilliant display throughout. As the game went on, the YouTuber side, Rebel FC grew in confidence and start to pick up momentum, after plenty of thunderous runs through the middle from Lionel, who had a brilliant game. Lionel linked up very well with his central midfield partner Dante, and also, Andrew Savva. It was Savva’s exceptional footwork that lead to the first major chance for Rebel FC, he stepped through a few players and got a good strike away, but not enough to level the scoring. The score however, was in fact leveled by the main man, Casey Barker! He had a brilliant game, and is pushing for the Rebel FC golden boot! He scored a hattrick for the club not so long ago, and added to that tally to make it 1-1. The goal came from the penalty spot, and it was a brilliant move from Andrew Savva, who put a great ball over the top, diagonally across the park to Reyen. Reyen did very well to use his pace to get round the outside, and was awarded a penalty when the referee deemed his shirt had been pulled. The inspirational YouTuber Casey Barker slotted home with a vicious strike, leaving no doubt in anyone's mind. The score at 1-1, and another goal in Casey’s quick growing tally. After the goal and the equaliser, Rebel FC has business to attend to at the other end. It was the brilliant goalkeeper Kaelin, who was on hand and on the ball, and he had to charge off his goal line and out the box to cut out the through ball with his knee, seconds for the striker, and superstar Calfreezy did enough to put off UCL’s second attempt, with Casey Barker on the goal line, forcing another good save from Kaelin, an awesome goal keeper who had an awesome game for Rebel FC. The defence for Rebel FC once again proves how solid it has been, to withstand any threat and keep the scores level. Half time came just after an excellent bit of footwork from Dante once again, the scores were tied, a fair reflection of a brilliant half of end to end football. Half Time: University College London 1 - 1 Rebel FC The second half got under way, and UCL were on the attack, another ball over the top, but it was the brilliant keeper Kaelin, does an incredible job to come out on top of the one on one. Kaelin had an excellent game, an unbelievable keeper. Rebel FC found more confidence and enjoyed a great spell of football. Excellent through balls to striker Rory Harper, who has had an excellent season so far. After a great run, Rebel FC were awarded a free kick and it time for Andrew Savva to step up. After a brilliant game and a few good free kicks before hand, Savva made it 2-1 with a cracking strike. Andrew Savva were delighted with the goal, and having come from behind to be leading 2-1. UCL were next to be on the attack, and after a one on one, and an injury for superstar Casey Barker, who spent a long time down, but fortunately back to his feet and okay. This passage of play lead to one of the many fantastic saves from Kaelin, he was outstanding. It took a wonderful strike from UCL to level the scoring, and make it 2-2, and all to play for, with not a lot of time left. University College London, continue to pile on the pressure, but it took an excellent challenge from the centre half, Will to prevent UCL taking the lead, and more good defending from Rambo, after a goal line clearance. The momentum was changed in a heartbeat by Jamie, who had an outstanding match again, using his blistering pace to take it from the edge of his box to then dribble so far that he won a corner Rebel FC. With a short amount of time left on the clock, Rebel FC had a mad few moments. A very dangerous backpass from Rambo lead to quick thinking from the defence and the keeper, Kaelin to get rid of any threat at all, and play it out the back. But then the unthinkable happened for Rebel FC, as left back Rambo, was given a straight red for a challenge, leaving about 10 minutes to go, with just 10 men, and the score at 2-2. The Rebel FC squad held out, and were brilliant throughout the back. The back four had an excellent showing and the whole team were outstanding. A great performance and I can’t wait for the next one to come round! Full Time: University College London 2 - 2 Rebel FC
