•Newark Football Alliance Premier Division Newark Town 3-0 Barkestone Le Vale The home club, Newark Town, will be delighted with their win this weekend, and the fact that they are now 7 games unbeaten in the league, claiming maximum points. Barkestone Le Vale will have known they have come up against very tough opposition in this match, but they will come back hungry next weekend and look to register more points in the league, and string together some wins. The goals were scored by Adam Britten, who came off the bench for Newark Town to score, and by man of the match Liam Warner, who scored two of the best goals to secure the three points for his club. Newark Flowserve 3-2 RHP Social Two very good teams battled it out in this contest as second placed Newark Flowserve edged out a close contest with the brilliant RHP Social, that was won in injury time. Newark Flowserve took the first half lead, going 2-1 up at the break, courtesy of goals from Luke Willows and Joseph Bilton. In the second half, RHP Social levelled the score to make it 2-2, and when the 90th minute rolled around, it looked to be a draw on the cards, but then two minutes later, a goal from Newark Flowserve’s Curtis Price, to earn his team all three points. This was a heart breaking game for RHP Social, but they will have a lot of positives to be taken into the next round with them. The man of the match awards were given to one player from each side, for RHP Social, it was awarded to Harry Mills, and for Newark Flowserve, they gave the man of the match award to Liam Knott. The RHP Social goals were scored by Alex Bosworth and Leighton Nicholson. •Newark Football Alliance Division 2 Chesters FC 2-1 Bleasby An excellent game in division 2, and a win for the home club, Chesters, against Bleasby. Chesters will be delighted with the start to the season they have had, and they will hope to continue that in the coming weeks, they currently sit 4th in the table. The goals from Chesters came from Kieron Davies and Connor Walsh, as they edged a very close game. Bleasby will be pleased with a close game, and will have positives to take from it. Their goal was scored by substitute James Menhennet. Fernwood 2-3 Sutton On Trent An excellent game between two excellent clubs, Fernwood and Sutton On Trent. Fernwood pushed second placed Sutton On Trent the whole way in this game, and the game could have gone either way. At half time, the score sat at 2-2, and then in the second half a goal from Sutton On Trent gave them the three points. Fernwood gave Liam Price the man of the match award for his performance this Sunday, and the goals came from Kieren Kendall and Jack Ranyard. Knowhow United FC Reserves 3-1 Laxton Athletic A great game in this encounter, as Knowhow United Reserves beat third placed Laxton Athletic, this proves how competitive this league is. Andrew Wright was awarded man of the match for Knowhow United Reserves, as they did an excellent job to win this game, after winning 1-0 at half time. Goal scorers include Aaron Heal and Joe Spindley. RHP Social Reserves 0-1 Grove 16 FC Reserves This match could have gone either way, as the hosts, RHP Social Reserves were involved in an excellent game with Grove 16 Reserves. The result went the way of the hosts, Grove 16, as they scored in the first half to make it 1-0, and that’s the way it remained throughout. The man of the match award for Grove 16 was given to Matthew Buck, and the only goal scorer in the game was Oliver Gee. It was an outstanding display from RHP Social Reserves goal keeper, Chris Wallhead, who was awarded man of the match for his club, RHP Social Reserves. Robin Hood FC 2-1 Holy Trinity Reserves Despite this being a top versus bottom clash, it did not seem to be when you look at the scoreline as this was a tight game, that looked as though it could have gone either way at any time. The half time score was 1-0 to Robin Hood, who currently sit top of the table, but an exciting second half, would have pushed them right to the end, and the result for 2-1 to the home club, Robin Hood. The goals for Robin Hood came from Tom Bromhead, and fro substitute Billy Cockburn. For the brave and valiant Holy Trinity Reserves, who battled hard throughout, they will be delighted with their display, and the man of the match award was given to Matt Asman for his performance, but their goal was scored by Daniel Vickers.
