Q&A with the brilliant Furio. A scary and talented wrestler
I had the pleasure of interviewing, Furio, a terrifying wrestler that strikes fear into everyone that watches him. He has a look that makes people in the audience scared, worried, but mainly, and most importantly curious and intrigued. Once you have adjusted your eyes to Furio, and the surprise when you first see him, you can sit back and enjoy a very talented wrestler. Furio has incredible kicks and he has brilliant athletic ability. Furio wrestles out of Falling Starr Promotions, an excellent promotion based in East Anglia, and run by the brilliant Jimmy Starr. Furio appeared on a massive show at the end of October, when Superstar Promotions rolled into Norfolk and the spooky Vampire, Furio had a match on a stacked card that included, Nick ‘Magnus’ Aldis, Bram, Daivari, Victoria and legend Tommy Dreamer. He wrestled the brilliant J-Denn Scarr, and they put on an awesome show at a packed when, on what was a huge occasion.

•1. Who was your biggest inspiration to become a wrestler? Hulk Hogan enticed my eyes to the world of pro wrestling. Ultimately it was the cruiserweights of WCW that would one day make me want to try my hand as a wrestler. •2. Who's the best wrestler you have worked with and why? I cannot limit the answer to a specific individual. I feel that when I wrestle my trainers Jimmy Starr and ‘Dark Wolf’ Matt Walters that I come away with a new piece of knowledge. I have been fortunate to wrestle great talents like El Ligero, Jonny Storm and Danny Boy Collins. Putting my skills against the skills of the best is very satisfying. •3. I watched you for the first time on Saturday night and you were brilliant. From the entrance, the lights, face paint, contacts, it really works. You are a performer that you can't take your eyes off and give off instant fear without saying a word. How did the gimmick come about? It takes time to find what works for you. But I have always wanted to break away from the normal image that pro wrestling has. You will never see some like me walking down the street. Fortunately for me I have always been encouraged that if I am going to do something then I should do it with total conviction. It is my objective to not leave you second guessing that I am anything other than what you see. •4. What advise would you give to somebody that's wants to break into the business? Find a good school with a good reputation and a good learning environment. Attend as frequently as you can and also make the effort to learn at different schools and seminars. But do not think your learning stops there. Watch footage of every aspect of wrestling. Matches, Training drills, Promos. Listen to the podcasts and interviews. Think about conditioning your body and going to the gym.

•5. You've wrestled at many venues, but where is the best? Lynnsport is a venue very close to me. I wrestle there regularly for Falling Starr Wrestling but it also serves as the home of the FSW Academy where I continue to hone my abilities. Dereham Memorial Hall is a nice venue which we have started to perform at. Lots of dark places away from the bright lights. •6. You have mastered a quality gimmick Furio, and a great name. Was it always going to be the vampire character and would you ever want to be involved in creating gimmicks for others? Wrestling is a great stage for me to show to the world that there are indeed things of myth and legend that do exist. Things that the human race do not understand…but understanding is just a matter of time. Once I feel I have acquired enough knowledge myself than possibly. It is about finding what lies within and bringing it to the surface. Every human soul has something special. Believe me I have fed upon many. •7. Who would be your dream match be against? Also, if you could team with anyone, who would that be? The Great Muta would be an excellent opponent and partner. I muse that me and Gangrel would form an interesting and deadly alliance. •8. What would be a normal day/week in the day of Furio? It is a world of darkness truly. The faces of those I have fed upon haunt me. But I have learned that technology is a wonderful gift so it can distract me from the angry spirits. With the need of humans to get their bodies into peak physical condition I cannot tell you how exquisite the taste is of a human that has just completed a workout. I see gyms as the equivalent to those places humans call McDonalds and Subway. •9. A great career to date and only going to get better, but what is the dream? To get to a point that I am a must see for any promotion. The United Kingdom is a treasure trove of opportunities at the moment. Japan is a realm I have my sights set on. Perhaps the United States of America as well.

As I said the United Kingdom is a treasure trove with so much talent and potential it is hard to really stand out. The quality is so good now that you cannot afford to have a rest period. So you find yourself with very little time to engage in anything else. •11. What is the proud moment for you so far? Being the first ever FSW Limitless Champion was very special. Breathing life into a new championship and setting the pace. Being FSW Wrestler of the Year in 2016 was a nice treat from the humans. I do not know if this was done out of fear however.
