Division 1 •Dynamo East Kilbride vs. Calderglen The in form and back on track Dynamo East Kilbride will be up for this contest against Calderglen. The visitors Calderglen will be ready to the journey, and they are in search for their first win of the season, and they will be ready. Dynamo East Kilbride picked up an excellent 2-0 win last weekend, and looked to have hit their best form, and Calderglen who pushed the current leaders Newton Vale all the way to the end, and made it very tough for them! I spoke to Dynamo East Kilbride and they have said, “This weekend we play calderglen in the league at the John wright's sports centre ek no suspensions and no injuries I hope always tough / good games v them and looking forward to it hopefully push on up the league.” •Eaglesham vs. Cambria A return to league action for Cambria this weekend, and they will be ready to get on the park and try and get back to winning ways. They have had a tough couple of weeks, having their undefeated league run broken and a cup exit, but that will be put to the back of the minds for the Cambria players, and they will look to bounce back to winnings ways. They are an excellent side, and they will be ready for what Eaglesham will have for them. Eaglesham are too, a good side, involved in a fantastic match the week before. They will be hosting this weekend and know that the visitors are going to be an exceptional and hungry Cambria side. This will be a brilliant game. I spoke to Cambria boss, Roddy McDonald, and he has said, “Need to get back to winning ways this weekend, alt Hopefully the game will be on, but have been told by Eaglesham that it’s more likely to be off with the rain we have had and Eaglesham Park doesn’t drain quickly.” •Eastwood Parkmount A vs. St Patrick’s FP A cup win for the away side last weekend and they beat Westcliff, in the President’s league cup, but they will know they have a very tough test this weekend, as they are on the road to Eastwood Parkmount A. Despite the result last weekend, Eastwood Parkmount have still be one of the most in form sides in the league and they will be hungry to get on the park and look to bounce back to winning ways. This is going to be an excellent division 1 match between two very good sides. •Jordanhill vs. Erskine Week’s and week’s of games being called off for the hosts Jordanhill, will have been frustrating. Jordanhill will hope that the break has provided, a chance to reset and refresh, recover from injuries and prepare for what’s to come. What is to come for them is a visit from Erskine, one of the most dangerous sides in the league. They have been in incredible form as of late and the third placed club have gone out their business, and they will know they have games in hand and they will want to make them count. An excellent win last weekend once again, and both clubs will be up for this one and they will both show passion and desire.
I spoke to Jordanhill and they have said, “We have been moved to Eastwood Astro this weekend to get our game on... big thanks to giffnock SC for supporting this. We have been training hard recently, but obviously it’s been 4 weeks since our last game. Michael Warnes and Louis Mitchell not quite ready to return from long term injuries. Had a brilliant game V Erskine last year in the cup... looking forward to this one!” •Strathclyde University vs. Glasgow University A An all University clash in this one between Strathclyde University and of course Glasgow University. This is going to be an excellent mate between two good sides in the league and the two clubs will be quick and strong and ready for whatever is thrown at them. This is going to be an excellent game between two university sides.
Division 2 •Ashvale Victoria vs. Glasgow University B An excellent game in store for us in division 2 as Ashvale Victoria, who are coming off a fantastic performance will be up against Glasgow University B. The hosts Ashvale Victoria are going to be taking a lot of positives into this game with them. Last weekend they were winning against second in the table but then a last minute strike lead to a draw, but the oppositions manager admitted that Ashvale Victoria had put in a fantastic performance. They are at home to Glasgow University B, a side they know will be young, quick, strong and up for the battle. This is going to be an excellent game and Ashvale Victoria will hope to go one better than last week, and continue their fantastic performance. •FC Baillieston vs. Crookston Castle After being involved in a classic last weekend, FC Baillieston will be ready for the visit of Crookston Castle. The hosts lost by a last minute free kicks making it 4-3, an incredible strike, but the two clubs have been exceptional and they will both be ready for a huge match. Crookston Castle picked up a convincing win last weekend, they have been flying high and climbing the table. The two clubs have been outstanding they are both in excellent form, this is going to be a rough day. I had chance to speak to Crookston Castle this weekend, and they have said, “We are on a good run of form we have scored 21 goals in the last four games so as always we are confident to get the win but won’t underestimate the opponents.” •North Kelvin Sports vs. Eastwood Parkmount B It has been a very tough start to the season for North Kelvin Sports and they are going to hope to turn that around this weekend, but they do have a strong side to face, and North Kelvin Sports will know that the first win is just around the corner. Eastwood Parkmount B have been excellent throughout the season. The club will hope to pick up all 3 Points this weekend and try and progress up the table. This is going to be a tough game for both clubs, but one that will be a fantastic moment. Eastwood Parkmount B will hope to continue their form. •Third Lanark vs. John Street This weekend, Third Lanark set out in the hope to make it the perfect 10! They have won 9 out their first 9 league games this season, and a win when John Street come to town, will make it the perfect 10. John Street however will be a very difficult test, a side coming off a 4-0 win last time out, and they are proving to be in excellent form. This is going to be an exciting game between two very good clubs in division 2. Third Lanark were in a nail bitter that weekend, ending in last minute drama, as the brilliant Marc Corlett came up with the goods, scoring an incredible free kick! This is going to be an excellent match, it will be brilliant, and the two clubs will be up for this one! I spoke to John Street and they have said, “Playing Third Lanark who are top of the league-and unbeaten , we are looking forward to the challenge.” •Westerlands GG vs. East Kilbride YM Last weekend, second placed East Kilbride YM had their bacon saved by a late strike from superstar Scott Campbell, who is enjoying an incredible season so far. They ended up picking up a draw, but they will hope to do one better this weekend against Westerlands GG, as they know they must win to stay within reach of league leaders Third Lanark. A tough result for Westerlands GG last weekend also, but they know they will be hungry for this one and up for this contest at home to East Kilbride YM. This should be an exciting contest. I spoke to Graeme Robertson, manager of East Kilbride YM, and he has said, “Playing away to westerlands, we always expect a tough game against a well organised side. Hopefully we can get back to winning ways and extend our 5 game unbeaten run. We will need to go on a long run of wins I feel to have any chance of catching Third Lanark who have been excellent so far this season.”
Division 3 •Newshot vs. Helensburgh Last weekend, Newshot were back with a bang, as they picked up a clinical 11-0 victory in the league after a long period of time without a league game. An excellent result, but they will have a tough test this weekend, as Helensburgh come to visit. Helensburgh are an excellent side, that have played excellent and before a tough game last weekend, have remained unbeaten in the league. Last weekend’s defeat will have ignited a spark within Helensburgh and made them hungrier to come back and go for broke. The very good side, Helensburgh will know their visit to top of the table Newshot is not going to be easy of course, but they will relish the challenge. The now only unbeaten side in division 3, Newshot are top of the table and have won all 5 of their first 5 games. They have scored 30 goals from their first 5 games, and when it comes to goal scoring just one of their stars for Newshot, Ross Stevenson has been excellent. They had 9 different goal scorers last weekend, but the star of the show was Ross Stevenson, who scored a first half hat trick to continue an excellent season. This Saturday promised an incredible game between the two clubs, this is going to be brilliant and exciting. I spoke to Helensburgh, and they have said, “Difficult game for us on Saturday with the visit to high flying Newshot. Need to try and bounce back from a disappointing performance and Result last Saturday. Few guys missing at a stag do so hope the lads that are stepping in can fill the gaps.” •Boswell vs. St Thomas The brilliant Boswell are going to be hosting this weekend as they welcome the visitor from St Thomas in division 3. St Thomas have had a very tough start to the season, they have a chance to make a major statement against a good club. Steven Odunewu is going to be in action for Boswell, an extremely talented player. This is going to be an excellent game between two good clubs.
I spoke to Boswell this week, and they have said, “had training tonight signed 2 keepers and another defender/midfielder playing against St Thomas and have moved it to toryglen on Astro as we need a game hate all these call offs” •South Lochaber Thistle vs. Carradale A weekend break for South Lochaber Thistle as their game was called off, but SLT will be hungrier and more ready to go in the league. They anticipate a long journey from Carradale, a side that will be delighted with the huge win last weekend. They will be pleased with their win last time out but hope that they can pull off another huge win. SLT are a brilliant side however and currently remain second in the table, and will be ready for whatever challenge is thrown their way. This is going to be an exciting match between two good clubs. I spoke to South Lochaber Thistle this week, and they have said, “SLT welcome old friends Carradale to Kinlochleven for a match both teams will hope to win. We enjoyed some ding dong battles last year and we’re sure it will be a hard fought encounter.” •Westcliff vs. Busby A great match to come between two clubs that will be up for a tough match. The young Busby have had a tough start to the season and they will know that just one win can change your season around. They will keep searching for that win and hope to climb the rankings. Westcliff, who have had a good start to the season and will be ready for the upcoming game. This is going to be a tough game but an enjoyable one to look forward too.
President’s League Cup Section 3 •Colquhoun United vs. Rannoch Cup tie action between two clubs that will be up for a great match. The hosts will enjoy his welcome break for the league and focus on cup action. This is going to be an excellent match, and Rannoh are going to be ready for the challenge and be just as hungry as the hosts. This is going to be an excellent match that I am looking forward too. This should be fantastic.
