Scottish Cup (Round 4) •Dynamo East Kilbride 3-2 Morgan Academy FP’s What an amazing for the Greater Glasgow club, Dynamo East Kilbride, who will progress through to the next round of the Scottish Cup, a fantastic achievement for everyone involved at the club. They will be delighted with the win, at home in this prestigious competition, and manager Derek Bell, should be very proud of himself and his players. They beat Morgan Academy FPs and they are going to be hoping to have a good draw for the next round, and will be excited to see what they will be up against. Dynamo East Kilbride were 3-0 and very comfortable in this one, but a brief wobble at the end, let Morgan Academy bring it back to 3-2, but the Greater Glasgow club held their nerve and picked up a huge win in the cup, a great achievement. The goals were scored by the always impressive, Marc Elliott, who has enjoyed a brilliant season for Dynamo East Kilbride this year, scoring many goals, and the other was scored by one of the leagues most lethal and talented players, William Stalker. Stalker has had a fantastic season also, doing it all, setting up as many goals as he has been scoring, and he has been scoring a lot of goals. They will be ready for the next round, and in the mean time, will hope to keep their excellent league campaign going! I spoke to Derek Bell, and he said, "3-0 and coasting into the last 7 mins lost 2 late goals but won 3-2 only a great save by our keeper in the final seconds gave us the win!!!! Although we shud have been a lot more comfortable ie 5 or 6 -0 but that’s football. I’m delighted to be through" Dynamo East Kilbride Line Up: 1. Nick Martin - (nickname: roly poly keeper) 2. A fantastic result for the club, they should be very proud of their progression to the next round, they have been in fantastic form. They will be delighted by their win this weekend, and will be ready for whatever the next round has in store for them. They will be excited for the draw. A brilliant win for FC Baillieston! Division 1 •Eaglesham 2-4 Eastwood Parkmount A Six goals in this one, the very in form Eastwood Parkmount A continue to pick up huge wins and will be delighted by the win, end three more points. They beat a very good Eaglesham side. •Erskine 5-2 Glasgow University A Another good win for Erskine winning 5-2 against Glasgow University A, two good clubs going head to head. •Jordanhill 0-4 St. Patrick’s FP Coming off an excellent victory this weekend, Jordanhill had a very tough game at home to a very well drilled and talented St Patrick’s FP Club. The visitors will be delighted with the 4 goals and the clean sheet. Jordanhill are hoping to bounce back to winning ways and look to pick up more points before the Christmas break. I had chance to speak to Jordanhill and they have said, “we didn’t deserve anything from the game. Beaten by a better side. Ridiculous decision by referee to give the first goal when keeper Mark Reid held the ball the right side of the line, yet the referee gave it. It started a bad run a decision.” •Strathclyde University 0-2 Newton Vale Newton Vale picked up a fantastic win this weekend, they won 2-0 away from home at University based side, Strathclyde University. They had to fight hard to pick up this victory, but they were brilliant in the way they battled hard. Newton Vale lost two very strong players very early on in this game, but they did not slow down, they continued to play their usual great football and dug deep to pick up three brilliant points. Newton Vale are proving to be unstoppable in this league, they have been fantastic and continue their unbeaten start to the season. They have played nine and still remain unbeaten, and they can be very proud of this weekend’s victory. They are one of the most in form clubs in the Greater Glasgow league, and have a very strong and deep squad of excellent players, an excellent win for the club. I heard from Newton Vale manager, Sean Donaghy, and he has said, “Attitude and determination won the three points as the team lost two highly influential players with the first 15 minutes. The resilience and effort shown today is a testament to the players involved belief and I couldn't be prouder as a manager tonight.” Division 2 •Crookston Castle 2-3 John Street A fantastic match between two very good sides in the Greater Glasgow League. A game when the leaders of the game changed many times, but in the end, John Street came out on top. An excellent game, John Street will be delighted by the win, and three more points. Crookston Castle have had a brilliant start to the season also, they will hope to get back to winning ways, and will be even hungrier next weekend. John Street will be proud of this win and pleased with a huge win for the club in the Greater Glasgow League. John Street will take a lot of confidence from this game, beating a side second in the table, and will be ready for the next challenge. I had chance to speak to Crookston Castle, and they have said, “very competitive match we are still second in a competitive league so onto the next game.” I also spoke to John Stret, and they have said, “we took an early lead then went down 2-1 got a man sent off and came back to win 3/2 , outstanding shift from the boys and got what we deserved in the end 3 points.” •Eastwood Parkmount B 0-3 Ashvale Victoria •Third Lanark 2-2 East Kilbride YM What an incredible match between two of the best division 2 clubs, a great, good spirited match. The result, is all square between the two, and two more goals for Alan Semple of Third Lanark, who continues an incredible season. Third Lanark sit top of the table, they won their first 10 league games, and a draw today, continues their unbeaten run, and they continue to sit top of the table. David Ampleford's Third Lanark have scored a fantastic 43 goals in their opening 11 games of the season, and now mid way through their league campaign, and have scored 31 points, with a maximum of 33 possible, an exceptional statistic for the club. East Kilbride YM, have a very good side, and they now sit second in the table, a plce behind Third Lanark. Manager Greame Robertson will be pleased with his players this season so far, as they prepare for a huge second part of the season, and will hope to pile on the points before the Christmas break. A great match, and the result is a point each! I managed to speak to Graeme Robertson, the manager of East Kilbride YM, and they have said, “Played well in spells, great game for the neutral. End to end stuff and could of went either way. Goals from scott Campbell and sean Kelly. All the best to third Lanark for the rest of the season always an enjoyable game.” I also had chance to speak to Third Lanark manager, David Ampleford, and he said, “What a game it was at Toryglen. EKYM’s movement off the ball is brilliant and it was a tough tie. They had some really good players and played well together. These are the games you want to play in. 2 teams playing the game well. Sempy hit 2 more goals today and played very well. We think we could have done better with their 2 goals but it was definitely a fair result. Still unbeaten after 11 games. 2 more games to Xmas. Loads of hard work still to do.” •Westerlands GG 6-1 North Kelvin Sports Another good win for Westerlands GG as they picked up a convincing win at home to North Kelvin Sports, who are on the hunt for their first win of the season and will hope it crimes before the Christmas break. Westerlands GG will be delighted with the win. Division 3 •Carradale 5-1 Boswell A massive win this weekend for Carradale as they faced Boswell at home and the Campbeltown based team will be delighted with five goals and three points in division 3. Boswell will be disappointed with the result after a long journey, but they will know that they have an excellent squad of players and will be sure to bounce back to winning ways very soon. The Boswell goal was scored by Sean Donnelly and the man of the match is the brilliant, Sunil Chatterjee. An excellent win for Carradale. I managed to speak to Boswell, and they have said, “Our long travel winless streak continues with only have a squad of 13 and in the squad was 2 players who hadn’t played for a year our captain Tam Daly who has been struggling with a injury and Bobo the manager who also was still recovering from injury. With no Steven Odunewu our key man and 4 other key players we where right down to the bare bones. But credit to the boys we gave a good performance and went 1-0 up after about 55mins. But got caught out with a screamer from there left back which gave them the lift to go up a extra gear. But fitness and lack of players to bring on and freshen up we again continue on our long travel defeats. Going to be a really upward battle now to win this league. Our players who let us down today are the ones who could not show that extra commitment to the club there is no point winning our local games and just not showing up for the distance games as it shows a lack of desire and it so goddam frustrating for me as a manager as we as a club put a lot of time and effort in to organising everything to be let down for a extra couple of hours traveling.” President’s League Cup Section 3 •Rannoch vs. Helensburgh (Abandoned at 1-4 to Helensburgh) Unfortunate circumstances in this one, as an injury to the Rannoch goal keeper, meant that this game would have to be called off. I want to wish the Rannoch goal keeper the best of the luck in his recovery. Helensburgh were 4-1 up before the injury. Helensburgh took the lead with a headed finish from Danny Johns, 13 minutes in, and Rannoch levelled the score, just 5 minutes later. The clinical Helensburgh then scored three more goals before half time, Brian Cameron scoring the second, followed by an own goal, and the fourth scored by David Sinclair scoring 38 minutes in. Helensburgh have been in fantastic form in both league and cup action, and they continue to play brilliant football, and putting in excellent performances. Best of luck to Rannoch’s goalkeeper. I managed to speak to Helensburgh and they have said, “4-1 up when it was cancelled at half time after the Rannoch keeper came of second best in a tackle with our striker Coasting at the time and although disappointed it didn’t get completed the welfare of the players has always got to be the highest priority.” President’s League Cup Section 5 •Bellaire 0-0 Newshot A stalemate in the President’s League Cup this weekend as Bellaire hosted Newshot and the scores stayed level at 0-0. Neither side could break the deadlock in this one, the two clubs could not be separated. A point each in Section 5 for the two clubs, they are going to both be hoping to bounce back to winning ways when the league comes back around.
