Sunday Trophy (Round 4)

Drumchapel United are coming off another fantastic win, and they pick up a cup win this weekend. They have been exceptional all season long, they will hope to cap that off with a Sunday Trophy. Drumchapel United are one of the favourites in this competition and will be pleased to have passed through to the next round, they are a side to watch, they will hope to continue their excellent run next weekend! The Dumchapel United goals were scored by Joe Preston, Mark Kilpatrick, and a double for Darren Miller. Man of the match in this cup tie was awarded to Stephen McDevitt.

I had chance to speak to Drumchapel United, and they have said, "Great performance from the boys today, dominant display and if I'm honest could have been a few more if we took our chances. Some great football played and good team goals. Into the hat for the last 16 we go.

All the best to Bullfrog for the season."

•Crownpoint United 3-1 Steadings

A brilliant win for Crownpoint United at home to Steadings this weekend, they are delighted to have progressed through to the next round. Despite some pre match drama when it came to the Crownpoint United kits, but when they went onto the park, they were fantastic, and put in a brilliant performance to get through to the next round of the cup. Crownpoint United will be up for their next challenge, and hope to continue their fine form, and string together a run of victories.

I spoke to Crownpoint United, and they have said, "What a day yesterday in the Scottish

Things couldn’t have got off to a worse start when Clarky turned up with no strips so a mad dash home to grab another and getting them out for a warm up at 1.45 was not the ideal prep for a Scottish cup tie

We then went out and put on one of our best performances of the season against a team that’s undefeated in all competitions and beat them 3-1 and very comfortably.

The boys stepped up to the task and done exactly what me and wullie asked of them and have now set the bar for whet our season goes from here.

Last 16 of the Scottish who would have thought it eh with the way our run has been.

Lastly the steadings boys obv turned up expecting to pump us as they came back to the pub afterwards with Santa suits on etc. Fair play to there lads tho they bought the boys a few drinks and had great banter with us"

•Baillieston p2-2 Sauchie - (8-7 on penalties)

A game that went all of the way to penalties in this Sunday Trophy clash, and a tough one for a very good Sauchie side to take. They went down to the wire with Baillieston, a great and exciting cup tie. A tough one for Sauchie in the end, they will take a lot of cofidence from the game, and will hope to get back to winning in the league before the looming Christmas break.

I spoke to Sauchie, and they have said, "Tough game against a good young team . 1st 30 mind we played fantastic football but we allowed it to go scrappy . Full time 2-2 and we lost 9-8 on pen"

•Northend p3-3 Cranhill United - (4-2 on penalties)

A cracking cup tie between two clubs of the Sunday Central in the Sunday Trophy this Sunday, and the game went all the way to penalties! An exciting contest, and it was Northend that eventually won the shoot out, winning it 4-2. A tough one for Cranhill United to take having gone all the way to penalties, after a very good game in normal time. A great advert for the game between two very good clubs, a great cup tie. Northend will be looking forward to who they will face in the next round of the cup.

I managed to speak to Frankie Carrick, manager of Northend and he said, "The lads had to dig deep against a good cranhill as we had key players out but the lads that came in done us proud and themselves they battled hard all game with some good Football played by both teams the game ended up 3-3 and going into penalties the lads held there composure slotting home some good penalties and our keeper Arran whitelaw pulled off two wonderful saves to send us into the last 16 of the cup"

•Albion 8-4 Carluke Thistle

Albion continue their winning start this weekend, as they won 8-4 at home to a very good Carluke Thistle side, and their continue to prove to be clinical in front of goal. They have scored 26 goals in four games, winning all four of the first four games. Brian Dornan's men will be delighted by the win, and retaining their winning streak. Carluke Thistle have come up against a very good side this weekend, they are good side, and will hope to bounce back to winning ways next weekend, this result may make them return hungrier. A thrilling game with 12 goals being scored, a win for the in form and unbeaten Albion.

I managed to speak to Brian Dornan, and he has said, "8-4 score line was hard to take because we gifted carluke thistle 3 of 4 of there goals and with both teams struggling for players both teams played a attacking style game with both teams going all out for the win

we know next time we play carluke it will be a tougher game as they were missing 5 or 6 players and they are a good side without those players so we know what we're in for next time we meet"

Brunswick are an outstanding team however, and they will come back hungrier and ready to go in Premiership 2, Brunswick are a fantastic side. An incredible win for Glasgow Rovers this weekend, however, a brilliant victory, one they will be proud of, and will take a lot of confidence from this win, and will hope to take the positives into next weekend.

I spoke to Glasgow Rovers manager, David Ramsay, and they have said, "Im absolutely over the moon tonight after todays performance against the league leader. The boys were outstanding.

Evenly balanced game that flew from end to end at great pace but with goals scoring chances few and far between in the early stages. We took the lead direct from a corner from wee hammer. A vicious ball whipped in caught the keeper out and flew in.

Maybe slightly against the run of play but after that we seemed to spark into life and it was a joy to watch.

Theres things i demand from the boys and they were all on show. Fight, heart, spirit, character and commitment. I asked them to go out there and give me a mans performance and every one of them stepped up to the plate and played there hearts out. Proud of them all tonight!

Its only our first victory and im no getting carried away but theres a buzz in the dressing room already and in my experience that can only be a good thing. Long may it continue.

All the best to brunswick for the season. A great bunch of boys that play the game the right way. Hard but fair!"

I also had chance to speak to Brunswick, and they have said, "A defensive error then an incorrect red card as referee didnt know the rule seen us lose out to Glasgow Rovers in a very frustrating day, had enough chances to win 2 games but we didnt take them and Glasgow Rovers took their chance when it came, bad day at office for us but these days happen, we'll look to bounce back next week, take nothing away from Glasgow Rovers who have vastly improved and will take points off alot of teams."

The Glasgow Star goals were scored by William Malone, Ivan Rahman and Jamie Dick, and the referees man of the match was given to Tam Stobo, but the managers man of the match was, the excellent Stuart Ferguson.

I had chance to speak to Glasgow Star, and they have said, "In a game where even Tom Daley couldn't have scored higher with the diving, 2 very poor decisions from the referee ment Glasgow Star only took 1 point from the 3 up for grabs.

1-0: With some very early pressure it was the in swinging corner that looped over the keeper who misjudged the ball and it found captain William Malone at the back post to tap in on the line. (14 Mins)

HT: 1-1

2-1: Glasgow Star came out the blocks early and took advantage of Bardykes unorganised defence. The ball was fired from LB to striker James George Smith who cushioned the ball down with his chest in the box and it was Ivan Rahman who fired low and hard to take the lead. (49 Mins)

East Lane are a fantastic team, and they will be hoping to remain unbeaten for the upcoming weeks, and getting to the Christmas break, unbeaten, would be an exceptional achievement.

I spoke to East Lane, and they have said, "for the first time this season in our league campaign we've disappointingly dropped points and drew 2-2 with bottom of the league Colquhoun. Colquhoun capitalised on momentary lapse in concentration from the defence and the keeper and punished us with 2 goals in the first 10 minutes something of a curse for East Lane. From there on we picked up the pace and forced pressure upon a tiring Colquhoun side but they were unrelenting and managed to withstand some heavy attacks! We underestimated them and paid the price."

A game with 12 goals, and an excellent win for Eastwood Mearns B, but Summerston Amateurs will bounce back and be hungrier than ever.

I spoke to Stephen Thomson, manager of Eastwood Mearns B, and they have said, "Our team played some great football and truly deserved the 10-2 win. The character of our players really showed in a tough physical game. The football was a joy to behold though and some cracking goals were witnessed.

To concede two sloppy goals due to simple errors showed how in control of the game Eastwood Mearns were.

Summerston did have a red card late in the game but had no bearing on the result.

The boys are already looking forward to training this week and a well deserved club night out before more prep for our next tough match against East Lane."

I also spoke to Summerston Amateurs, and they have said, "Disappointed with the result and the performance we'll needy dust our self's off and try and get the standards up to what's expected from us"
