It was so great to have the OBITS back, in what is hoping to be the first of many games. Hampton won the toss and batted first.

Hampton scored 136 for 6 on a very hard pitch to bat on, a very good score in the conditions. The Admiral OBITS dusted off the cobwebs and found their stride, everyone bowling well, taking wickets and getting back into the swing of things after the long 8 year lay off.

The nerves were settled for the Admiral OBITS when the second ball of the game was an excellent call and bowled by Chris Keeble, a tough job opening up the bowling but Chris made it look easy.

Mike Storey picked up 2 wickets for just 7 runs returning the OBITS figures of the night, along with Adam Skillern, as his 2 wickets came from just 8 runs.

It was a night of debuts, keeping much of the team that played all those years ago, as well as, new players, some playing their first game of cricket ever, which is great to see.

Mark Cadman opened up and retired not out on 25 from 39 balls, getting the OBITS off to a good start, and many people batting well down the order, getting back into the momentum of it all. Mike Storey was ticking along nicely before one of the best catches we have seen for a very long time dismissed him.

Storey however was deemed the OBITS man of the match for an excellent all round performance.

Thank you to Hampton CC for the match, we hope it is the first of many. It is great to say that the OBITS have another fixture in a month's time, away at Wansford...
